Our client is seeking Government Relations Advisor. The focus of this role will be supporting the external communication of major strategic projects — particularly positioning these initiatives within government and budgetary processes to secure investment and policy support.

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced government relations professional who understands the current political environment, parliamentary & budget processes and key government and industry stakeholders, with demonstrated experience in advocacy, engagement & strategic communication strategies, stakeholder management.

Key duties include:

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of advocacy efforts with the broader strategic planning objectives.
• Advise senior leadership on evolving policy landscapes and legislative initiatives.
• Prepare advice, briefing papers and presentations.
• Support engagement with government agencies and building strategic relationships with policymakers at all levels.
• Advise on communication, negotiation, and presentation approaches to influence policy outcomes.

Qualifications:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification.
• Extensive public policy experience.
• Engagement experience with government agencies, Minister’s offices and local authorities
• Highly developed project management skills.
• Highly developed presentation and communication skills.
• High level conceptual and analytical skills.
• High level negotiation and liaison skills.
