About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to classify inpatient episodes of care using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and The Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) according to the Australian Coding Standards.The Senior Clinical Coder is acknowledged as having high level clinical coding skills & knowledge across a broad range of specialties through a minimum of 2 years (full-time) coding experience in a hospital setting with exposure to various levels of complexity and specialties.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Contribute to the training and development of student placements and clinical coding workforce.
- Contribute to and participate in the Health Information Service clinical classification and documentation improvement strategies, including WAU Optimisation and data quality.
- Coordinate and participate in the collection of Clinical Coding KPI's including the reporting and provision of feedback, education and training to monitor and improve performance.
