About the role
Fixed term temporary opportunity to undertake auditing activities, data verification and clinical liaison to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of inpatient morbidity data at both Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Employ a range of advanced skills to code complex cases and act as a mentor for less experienced clinical coders.
- Liaise with clinicians to clarify documentation in the clinical record to assist in timely and accurate code assignment at both Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals.
- Under the direction of the Senior Health Information Manager – Service Line and Assistant Director Coding and Analytics, guide and mentor the clinical coders in accordance with organisational goals, guidelines and standards.
- Assist the Senior Health Information Manager – Service Line with closing the end of month data submission for Caboolture and Kilcoy.
- Coordination of coding student placements.
