Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
This position can be available in Rosny or Launceston
Duties
- Lead a number of specialist teams appointed for the purpose of resolving disputes and gaining compliance with the CBOS related legislation including, the legislation relevant to the built environment, occupational licensing legislation and the Australian Consumer Law.
- Lead the Compliance function across CBOS, including providing specialist advice to other Managers, development of the compliance plan and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Provide policy advice to the Executive Director, the Director Compliance & Risk and Specialist Technical Managers in relation to compliance with the relevant legislation.
- Manage the relationship with key external stakeholders, including Industry Associations, Other Jurisdictions, Service Tasmania and the Office of the DPP.
- Conduct complex performance audits of building practitioners, permit authorities and councils and report the results to the Director.
- Direct the resolution of specific complaints, allegations and other matters, including establishing, managing, integrating, monitoring and maintaining a complaints handling process in accordance with the requirements of the suite of legislation.
- Oversee and prepare briefs of evidence, reports and recommendations in relation to investigations and performance audits in a timely manner and provide evidence in courts and tribunals of relevant jurisdiction.
- Exercise statutory delegations under relevant legislation when required.
- Support the Director Compliance and Risk of CBOS through the effective management and leadership of the Compliance and Dispute Resolution Unit.
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant Tertiary or Post-Secondary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience.
