We're a Tasmanian not-for-profit providing mental health, wellbeing and dispute resolution services across our community. From families, individuals to workplaces, we’ve got their backs and thanks to our continued growth we’re looking for our next Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join the team!
Whether you’re already qualified or looking to step into this work and gain qualifications—we want to hear from you. We’ll support the right person with training and development to become a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) if you’re not already there.
We’re looking for someone available 3 to 5 days per week—let’s chat about what that looks like for you.
The Role:
You'll provide support and mediation to:
Families experiencing conflict, especially around parenting or property settlement
Workplaces navigating disputes or team tensions
Community members in conflict with one another
From intake and screening to mediation, resolution and referral, you'll help people work through tough situations with compassion, structure, and skill.
About You:
You’re someone who:
Communicates clearly and with care
Stays calm and professional under pressure
Is committed to integrity, equity, and supporting others through change
Understands (or is eager to learn about) Family Law, separation, parenting arrangements, and family dynamics
Can manage sensitive and complex conversations with empathy
You’ll also be comfortable with:
Writing clear agreements and reports
Risk assessment and mandatory reporting
Working independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team
Working within timeframes
Technology including client management systems and Microsoft
Qualifications & Training:
We welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and those ready to grow into the role.
You’ll either:
Already hold a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution and be registered with the Attorney General’s Department OR
Be eligible and willing to study towards these qualifications (we can help!)
Bonus points if you have experience or training in:
Workplace or community mediation
Child Inclusive Practice
Property and financial settlements
NMAS Accreditation
Law or legal practice

Salary sacrifice benefits up to $15,900 for living expenses and an additional $2,650 for meal and entertainment.

Remuneration will be under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award with salary commensurate to experience and hours worked.
