About the Role:
Our State Government client is seeking a Team Leader to oversee a small team of Advisors within People and Culture. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate processing of payroll, leave, and staffing movements, and providing high-level advice to stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a small team of Advisors responsible for staffing movements and payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance;
- Implement quality control processes to maintain data integrity and correct entitlements;
- Provide expert advice to managers and staff on HR policies, entitlements, and systems;
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the department, delivering high-quality HR services and guidance;
- Generate, analyse, and action workforce data using the Aurion system and Excel for standard and ad-hoc reporting;
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, with a focus on technology and data analytics;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial instruments, and sector-wide policies and directives;
- Draft high-quality documentation including policies, reports, briefing notes, and correspondence;
- Develop and maintain procedure manuals and work instructions for operational processes; and
- Support the Senior Advisor, Principal Advisor, and Manager on various projects as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
You will be an experienced HR professional with strong operational knowledge, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Familiarity with the Queensland public sector and Aurion system is highly regarded.
