We’re a small but busy accounting firm based in Rowville, Victoria, focused on providing accounting, taxation and related services to businesses. We are now looking to expand the team to fill a role to support ongoing growth in our client base.

Are you a tax accountant with 1 ½ to 2 years experience who is looking to join a small firm, and willing to be involved in the day-to-day management of business clients?

Experience in preparing income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, along with a solid understanding of capital gains tax is a prerequisite.

Being a small office, the role will consist of a multitude of tasks, but at the heart will be preparation of income tax returns, business activity statements, and bookkeeping for clients. Exposure to and interaction with clients is guaranteed.

The majority of work performed by the firm is for clients who use Xero as their business’s bookkeeping software, and our practice uses Xero to prepare tax returns, thus experience using Xero is required. Whilst most of our systems are cloud-based, all work is performed either within our office, or when we attend onsite meetings at client premises. As such, this role is unlikely to be suitable for a candidate seeking the ability to WFH.

A part-time role is on offer 3 - 4 days per week, salary package circa $65,000 FTE. Flexibility with hours is provided, and the role would be suitable for someone looking to work around school hours.

Our firm has grown in each of the last four financial years, and a steady stream of referrals and introductions to new clients continues to pleasantly surprise us. Accordingly, the opportunity to grow with the firm is available to the right candidate. Whilst not a prerequisite, our preference is for a candidate looking to establish a career in public practice, and potentially studying towards, or looking to commence studies towards CA or CPA.
