We provide supported independent living (SIL) style accommodation to people with a disability. About this Role:
We are looking for passionate and resilient people to join our team and help support our clients to build their social and independent living skills.
This role will be situated in the Newcastle and East Maitland area, working across a 24/7 roster which could include mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively within a team.
Demonstrate person centred care principles.
Managing emotions and challenging behaviours.
Administrative duties i.e., shifts notes and reports.
Provide direct care and support to people with a disability with all activities of daily living which may include domestic duties, personal care, social support, medication assistance, manual handling, transport, meals and attending appointments.
Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all key stakeholders; clients, families, guardians, and involved services.
Essential Criteria:
Current unrestricted driver’s license.
Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Current NDIS worker check (or willingness to obtain).
Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
Reliable vehicle with current registration and comprehensive car insurance that you are willing to use to transport Clients.
Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
MUST be available to work sleepover shifts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills.
Smart Phone.
Desired Criteria:
Relevant industry qualification.
Experience working in the community services sector.
Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with mental health, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
