The Role

The Family Domestic Violence Response Team (FDVRT) Program Facilitator will work in line with the Western Australia Police Force, Department of Communities, Department of Justice and services providing Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) support to engage with men who choose to use violence. The program facilitator will also exchange risk related information where required to manage the safety of women and children.

In this vital role, you’ll have the opportunity to directly influence change and support safer outcomes for families and communities. You will:

Build trust and provide one-on-one support, including case management, for men who use violence

Conduct assessments and connect individuals with men’s behaviour change programs or other tailored interventions

Facilitate individual behaviour change sessions focused on accountability, safety, and growth

Complete tailored risk assessments and develop safety plans to protect those at risk

Coordinate referrals to wraparound support services that meet individual and family needs

Cultivate strong partnerships with key stakeholders to strengthen support pathways

This role is offered on a Permanent Full-time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight. This role will be co-located with the FDVRT team in Cockburn Police Station.

Selection Criteria

Qualification and/or experience in a relevant field, with family and domestic violence or men's behaviour change highly regarded.

Ability to develop rapport and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning, and individual, case management and informal counselling to clients.

Demonstrated high level time management and task management skills, and ability to work under limited direction.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills.

An understanding of FDV and duty of care

Unrestricted driver's licence, Police clearance, Working With Children Check.

Willing to obtain Department of Justice integrity clearance once employed
