Hours: 40 hours/week

About the Opportunity
Transport for NSW is seeking a Network and Safety Officer to join the Greater Sydney Planning and Programs team. This role offers a chance to contribute to impactful transport safety outcomes, supporting network efficiency and road safety across Sydney.

This is a short-term backfill role due to staff currently seconded to acting positions. You’ll step into a critical role in a fast-paced team delivering high-quality safety assessments and solutions across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic, safety and land use development investigations, audits, and technical assessments.
• Provide expert network management advice to councils and internal stakeholders.
• Represent Transport at council traffic and development committees.
• Deliver timely and considered responses to stakeholder queries.
• Apply project management skills to support program delivery targets.
• Collaborate across precincts to ensure a consistent approach to traffic and safety management.

Essential Requirements

• Road and traffic safety investigations and audits.
• Developing practical solutions to complex network management challenges.
• Mentoring and coaching peers in technical disciplines.

• Tertiary qualification in traffic engineering or a related discipline, OR equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in:
  
• Deep understanding of network management policies and technical standards.
