About your new role!

Supporting the Safety, Heath & Wellbeing Business Partner, this role is responsible for the delivery of safety support and assurance to Asset Lifecycle Major Projects and delivery partners during the delivery and commissioning phase of new assets.

This includes providing expert advice and support in delivering the business units strategic objectives, plans, management systems objectives, mitigation of safety risks and hazards, the prevention of workplace injuries, the prevention of incidents and occurrences, regulatory compliance and the promotion of a safe culture.

Key tasks for this role include:

• Delivering a safety business partnering and advisory function that supports the needs of SWC and delivery partners to effectively manage safety in a complex regulatory and project based environment.
• Influencing and negotiating with senior managers across a dynamic business environment to secure adoption and engagement with safety and health initiatives and processes.
• Maintaining consistency between the SWC and Delivery Partners safety practices and systems as both adapt to new challenges and build their capability.

About You!

• Understanding of contract safety management.
• Experience in heavy construction and large capital works projects
• High level of interpersonal skills including team, relationship building & conflict resolution.
• Ability to model, influence and encourage positive behaviours
• Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and communication skills
• Strong investigative, analytical, planning and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster networking between various areas and departments
• Adaptability and openness to change and diversity
• Highly developed level of self-awareness / self-management
• Ability to effectively coach others and impart knowledge / information on all levels
• Working knowledge of the WHS Act, WHS Regulations and associated Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.

Qualifications for the role include:

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or Diploma of Health & Safety
• Formal and recognised lead auditor qualifications in safety
• Formal and recognised safety investigations training (such as ICAM)

• Role Title: Safety Lead
• Contract Length: 3 months, ASAP start
• Pay: $500 - $550 per day + Super, 40hr week.
• Hybrid working arrangement and easy to access location in Parramatta
