Sharp & Carter has partnered with a nationally recognised retail and wholesale organisation seeking an experienced WHS professional to oversee and enhance their workplace safety framework across multiple business units. Based in Western Sydney, this standalone role will see you work closely with the operations team to drive compliance, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across Australia and New Zealand.

You will act as the key point of contact for WHS across the business – with a remit spanning policy development, training, incident investigation, workers comp, and regulatory response. This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on role with high visibility and real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety initiatives, partnering with senior stakeholders across various business units
  • Overhaul and improve existing WHS policies, procedures and reporting tools
  • Manage workplace incidents and liaise with regulators, including preparing Due Diligence reports
  • Upskill and coach operational staff, including Return-to-Work Officers
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through training and clear reporting
  • Oversee workers compensation processes and work with external providers (TPAs)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation across Australia and New Zealand

About You

  • Cert IV in WHS, with strong working knowledge of the Australian WHS landscape
  • Prior experience in a similar role within FMCG, retail, or hospitality environments
  • Comfortable working in a standalone capacity with exposure to multi-site or national operations
  • Strong business acumen and confident communication
  • Understanding of WHS and safety systems
