Employment Type: Ongoing / Non-Ongoing
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
Citizenship: Australian Citizenship required
Hourly rate: $39.00 - $45.00 p/h + super and penalty rates
Contract term: 24 months + 12 month extension option
Position Overview The APS 3 Service Support Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality front-line customer service and administrative support within a government service delivery environment. The role provides the first point of contact for clients and stakeholders, whether in-person, by phone, or through electronic communications. The officer also supports operational and administrative functions to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and visitors via reception, phone, email, and SMS.
- Provide administrative support to assist daily operational activities as directed by regional management.
- Manage client enquiries and appointment bookings using internal systems, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting events, meetings, and group programs.
- Perform administrative tasks across service delivery areas including data entry, record management, and workflow tracking.
- Prepare and dispatch correspondence relating to client services such as referrals, appointments, and feedback.
- Support interactions with external service providers and contracted professionals.
- Assist with regional logistics including travel arrangements, invoice processing, supply requisitions, and property maintenance.
- Support reporting and quality assurance activities as required by management.
- Uphold and model workplace standards including health and safety, diversity, code of conduct, and public service values.
Mandatory Experience
- Proven experience in business operations or administrative support within a health, human services, or government setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, assessed in line with the Australian Public Service Commission’s Work Level Standards.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework.
