About the Role

We are seeking a Toowoomba-based, detail-oriented, and experienced Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. This role plays a pivotal part in our financial operations by ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and supporting the organisation’s financial health and growth.

This is a part-time position spread over four days per week between 8:30am and 4:30pm (30 hours/week). Thursdays and Fridays are required workdays, while the remaining two days can be chosen from Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

While this role is primarily home-based, applicants must reside in Toowoomba to complete essential in-person tasks, including:

Dropping off and collecting orders and mail

Managing vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups from mechanics

Attending team meetings as required

Key Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Receivable: receipting, invoicing, crediting accounts

Manage Accounts Payable: creating bills, processing adjustments, and making payments

Enter all MasterCard account transactions

Coordinate Motor Vehicle Fleet Management

Perform debt collection activities

Prepare month-end revenue and expense journals

Provide backup support for other roles, including Payroll

Assist with Carbon Accounting through data entry and reconciliation

Undertake general administrative tasks such as:

Booking accommodation

Purchasing and processing orders

Answering phones

Collecting/delivering mail and resources

What We're Looking For

Certificate III in Finance/Accounting and/or 5+ years’ experience in financial roles (accounts payable/receivable, payroll, etc.)

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

Proficiency with financial software and spreadsheets

High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving ability

Strong ability to follow procedures and comply with policies

Effective communication and teamwork, especially in a remote work environment

Proactive and self-directed - able to independently troubleshoot and seek out answers before escalating questions

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
