About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. Specialist Medical Services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland.
About the role:
Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist/Senior Medical Officer will provide:
- Inpatient community and consultative specialist Palliative Care Services for CQ Health.
- Professional leadership to staff across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), and to be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary care team.
- Ensure the organisation, management and provision of specialist clinical services in Palliative Care for CQ Health.
About you:
- Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies is mandatory.
- MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- For Staff Specialist appointments: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Palliative Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Australian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FAChPM – RACP). Applicants with extensive experience in palliative medicine may also be considered.
- For Senior Medical Officer appointments: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in General Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australia College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) with extensive experience in palliative medicine. While not mandatory, it will be highly regarded to have Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $182,106 - $187,801 p.a. (L13-L14)
- A salary rate between $176,802 - $244,201 p.a. (L13-L18)
- A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
- A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
