Position Title: Cabinet Maker

Location: Bondi Kitchens, Sydney, NSW

Reports to: Project Manager

Position Summary:

The Cabinet Maker at Bondi Kitchens will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and installing custom kitchen cabinetry and furniture. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Cabinet Construction:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Select and prepare timber and other materials required for cabinet making.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and assemble cabinet parts.
• Apply finishes, such as stain, varnish, or paint, to completed cabinetry.

Quality Control:

• Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet company standards and client expectations.
• Identify and rectify any defects or issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Certificate III in Cabinet Making or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cabinet making, preferably in a custom or high-end kitchen environment.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in using a wide range of woodworking tools and machinery.
• Strong understanding of woodworking techniques and principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
• Capable of standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• Workshop in Marrickville with exposure to machinery noise, dust, and potential hazards. Proper safety equipment and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
