About the opportunity
AUSTRAC is looking for an ICT Professional to perform the role of Specialist, Test Lead, Products Quality Assurance.
The successful candidate will lead testing activities of various projects and BAU system delivery activities. You’ll be part of a team that delivers user-friendly systems that support industry in meeting their reporting obligations, playing a critical role in protecting Australia’s financial system.

· Demonstrated experience in writing and executing all levels of testing (system, integration, and regression).
· Strong understanding and application of Agile Methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), within multi-disciplinary project teams.
· Demonstrated experience in writing and executing automation testing of functional test cases.
· Coding skills in Java and SQL.
· Demonstrated skills in creating and running parallel automated cross-browser test scenarios.
· Skills in creating CI/CD pipeline for automation test sets.
· Knowledge of Non-functional testing techniques.
· Tertiary qualification in an IT focused degree, or equivalent experience in the software testing space.

The key duties of the position include:
In this role, you will put users at the heart of everything you do, driving innovation and quality assurance, and elevating the user experience in every solution we create.
Test Implementation and Strategy
· Develop and present strategic test plans that identify coverage, gaps, and risks.
· Lead and execute all levels of testing including functional, integration, system, and regression.
· Conducting manual testing and supporting UAT and system demonstrations.
· Document test cases and results using XRAY JIRA.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
· Work closely with engineers to ensure availability of testing environments and data, including automation scripts.
· Coordinate performance, accessibility, and penetration testing tasks.
· Collaborate with business analysts, delivery managers, end users, and developers to contribute to new system feature documentation.
Frameworks and Compliance
· Ensure automation frameworks align with agency software engineering standards and testing policies.
· Develop testing reports and enforce best practices to meet project and agency objectives in line with AUSTRAC's testing policy.
Service Delivery
· Manage defect backlogs and prioritisation with stakeholders.
· Provide quality assurance approval of test cases before UAT.
· Partner with management to refine testing guidance and practices.
Leadership and Development
· Lead and mentor testing teams, allocating tasks, overseeing automation testing.
· Manage scheduling and reporting to enhance team capability and delivery outcomes.

This recruitment process will initially be used to fill a current vacancy and in future, may be used to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant. The merit pools established from this recruitment process will be valid for 18 months from the date of advertising.

Annual leave of 4 weeks (20 days) per year + additional paid Christmas close down.
