Location: Flexible | Organisation: Diabetes Australia
Type: Full-time | Reports to: NDSS National Contract Manager
Make Your Impact Where It Matters Most
If you’ve spent your career in the not-for-profit or health sector, you know how powerful good systems and smart data can be. You’ve seen how the right insight at the right time can change lives and you care deeply about making services work better for the people who rely on them.
At Diabetes Australia, we deliver the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) on behalf of the Australian Government. It’s a national program that supports over 1.5 million Australians living with diabetes. And we’re looking for a Strategic Evaluation & Improvement Lead to help us make it even more effective.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a role with real influence. You’ll lead evaluation and improvement efforts across NDSS operations, helping us understand what’s working, where we can improve, and how we can better serve our community.
You’ll be responsible for:
Managing the NDSS evaluation framework and external evaluation partner
Monitoring performance and identifying opportunities for service improvement
Supporting teams to use data and feedback to drive change
Coordinating reporting and quality improvement initiatives
Engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared progress
What You’ll Bring
You’ve worked in evaluation, improvement, or operations and you’ve done it in complex, purpose-driven environments. You understand the nuances of working with government contracts, health programs, or community services. And you know how to bring people along with change.
We’re looking for someone with:
5+ years’ experience in evaluation, process improvement, operations, or contract management
Experience leading program evaluations and managing external service providers
Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation, using tools like Power BI, Excel, and Qualtrics
Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and drive change
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A collaborative, adaptable mindset and a commitment to equity and inclusion
Bonus if you also bring:
Qualifications or experience in improvement science, evaluation methodologies, or service redesign
Experience in healthcare, government-funded programs, or not-for-profit organisations
Financial acumen and the ability to interpret budget models or cost-benefit data
