Your part in St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital team
We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join the team at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in a Fixed Term Part Time position until January with possible extension.
As a Speech Pathologist at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital, you will be involved in the care of patients in the neurology, acute stroke, rehabilitation, medical, surgical, critical care and emergency units within the hospital, working with patients to assess, diagnose, treat and manage a range of communication and swallowing impairments.
With a focus on delivering high-quality clinical expertise, you will be an experienced practitioner, providing clinical practice development and training opportunities to less experienced allied health staff, assistants and students, under the guidance of senior clinical staff.
You will deliver high quality speech pathology clinical services across a number of clinical areas, incorporating strategies within speech pathology processes and treatment plans, with a commitment to providing exceptional person-centred care.
What makes a difference for us?
Tertiary Degree in Speech Pathology
Certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia
Minimum 2 years post graduate clinical experience in acute tertiary hospital setting
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Assessments
Hold a membership with Speech Pathology Australia
Hold a current Blue Card
Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage complex and variable caseloads
Experience with Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study desirable
Experience with Tracheostomy management is highly desirable
Availability to work Thursdays and Fridays desirable, with ability to pick up extra hours when required
