We are seeking a qualified, passionate and enthusiastic Director for our recently renovated Templestowe Long Day Care Centre. Licensed for 120 children per day, our Centre is beautifully designed and fitted out. Its open-plan design enables Educators in every room to work in collaboration, share their expertise and resources.
The role of Director is a special one at Paisley Park, and specifically at our Centre in Templestowe. We have a number of very experienced Educators, at assistant and leadership levels, ready to be inspired and motivated to be the Centre of choice in the local community. Located on a major road with full visibility, we are fortunate to have an expansive car park and natural landscape, plenty of usable space for children to explore extensively.
We require a candidate who is highly positive and has extensive experience in relationship building; thus, we encourage only applicants who believe they possess the right skill set, attitude, and experience to apply. The most essential attributes to possess are teamwork and a willingness to work hands-on with the team, as this approach has been proven to strengthen morale and build a positive workplace culture.
We have a very hands-on approach to leadership and expect the Director to be involved at all levels of Centre operations. We have an opportunity to explore shared leadership of the Director role, which means that if you have the right attitude and would like to share this position, that opportunity may be available.
Our expectation is that the Director is able to perform any tasks that are critical to maintaining the Centre's high-quality standards as well as service viability. This means we do expect the Director to implement some administrative duties, including rostering; however, this is not a 'behind-the-desk' role. Our Directors should be engaging with families, external clientele, communicating with organisations, and mentoring daily practice, not chasing fees.
We facilitate a Community Engagement Program that requires the leadership team to lead in their Centre. This means there is an expectation to participate in some activities outside of regular working hours to support the building of external relationships with community organisations and local schools.
We are deeply committed to the ongoing development of our team. That is why we have an embedded professional learning program in which Educators engage in critical reflection, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge. The Director is required to lead their team to ensure they have implemented the changes outlined in monthly Community of Practice sessions, facilitated internally and within working hours.
To be part of our Paisley Park family, the successful candidate will have:
1. An Early Childhood qualification (Diploma, University Degree)
2. A Working with Children Check
3. A Senior First Aid/Anaphylaxis/Asthma Certification
4. A Drivers Licence, or the ability to navigate public transport
5. Australian Residency or sponsorship capacity
6. Child Protection Certification and an understanding of their Mandatory Reporting Responsibilities
7. Have experience developing and implementing high-quality educational programs and curriculum frameworks
8. The ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
