About the Role:
Curtin University School of Population Health invites applications for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Research) in Health Administration (leadership and management) which sits in our Health Economics and Data Analytics (HEDA) discipline. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent position designed for an individual who excels in health administration and who is deeply committed to delivering academic excellence in teaching and research.
We are seeking a candidate who can inspire students and foster an engaging learning environment while contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
Your responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):
In Teaching:
- Delivering high-quality instruction, fostering student learning through diverse methods, assessing student work, and contributing to curriculum design.
In Research:
- Conducting competitive research, developing a coherent research program, securing funding, and disseminating findings through publications and presentations.
In Service and Leadership:
- Promoting collegiality, engaging with the community, and maintaining high professional standards to create a supportive work environment.
Selection Criteria – who we are looking for:
- A doctoral qualification in a relevant field
- Membership of the of Australian College of Health Services in Australasia (ACHSM) or equivalent
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
- Demonstrated experience/capacity to undertake unit coordination.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to the application of relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
If you would like to be considered for an ALC level, please ensure that you also address the following criteria in addition to the above:
- A significant contribution to scholarship in teaching and learning.
- An emerging record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and course coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead teaching and learning initiatives and provide mentoring to less experienced staff.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
