Due to maternity leave, an opportunity exists for an experienced sales estimator to join this large team, responsible for delivering accurate sales estimates for a variety of projects, including standard investment properties, custom homes and D&C developments. You will also be responsible for assisting with production estimates on an "as needs" basis.
Reporting to the Estimating and Procurement Manager, duties will include the following:
Obtain and provided accurate quantities from construction plans to formulate standard BOQs.
Review and analyse technical drawings, scopes and specifications to determine accurate costs.
Provide accurate BOQ take-offs
Create and maintain standard Bills of Quantities
Assist with creating and maintaining pricing catalogues
Itemise site costs at point of sale, including relevant council overlays and estate-specific costs
Provide costs for variations and maintain the variation catalogue
Request quotes from suppliers and contractors, and keeping records fo these
Conduct supplier comparisons
Determine variables from standard BOQs
Produce purchase orders for construction team
Provide forecasts to complete projects at fixing stage and PC stage
Assess and approve invoices
Our ideal applicant will have a diploma in building design or equivalent tertiary qualification, along with demonstrated experience delivering accurate sales estimates for design and construct projects, custom and investment homes.
You should have a strong ability to analyse construction plans, technical drawings and specifications to determine accurate quantities and costs. You will need to be proficient in creating and maintaining Bills of Quantities, with a working knowledge of construction methodologies and industry standards (Australian Standards, NCC and BCA).
Your proven experience in managing supplier quotes, trade agreements and cost comparisons is needed to ensure value for the organisation. Computer literacy on industry specific software such as iHub and/or Databuild is required.
Being a fixed term engagement, you will received annual leave pay, sick pay and holiday pay. There is a possibility that the role will extend to permanent full time.
