Trit House is launching Australia’s first dedicated Wendelbo showroom in Richmond, VIC.

Founded in Aarhus in 1955 as a family upholstery workshop, Wendelbo has grown through three generations into an international design house admired for modern elegance – refined Scandinavian silhouettes, meticulous hand-stitched details, and comfort-driven minimalism. As the inaugural Showroom Manager, you’ll be the local ambassador for this heritage, leading a new team that shares your passion for the brand’s considered craftsmanship and quiet sophistication.

Your drive for results, knack for sales and admin, and talent for leading people make the showroom feel like your own. Warm and approachable, you spark excitement on the floor, energising the team and turning every customer visit into an enjoyable, design-led experience.

As the Showroom Manager, you are responsible for overseeing and managing the overall functioning of the showroom and the team. You will assist the Directors to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of showroom operations and product merchandising. As a Showroom Manager, you ensure maximum efficiency and productiveness of the showroom and its respective processes, working collaboratively with the Directors and employees to achieve company goals.

You will have superior administration, people and customer service skills, looking for an opportunity to join a great team in a very busy and well-established business. You'll need experience in a retail business and a customer-focused environment. You will be able to demonstrate a flexible and positive attitude, work independently, and with a clear ability to develop long-lasting customer relationships. Previous management experience is a must.

We're looking for candidates with:

Experience in sales from a retail or furniture background

Minimum of 2 years prior management experience

Strong understanding of retail business needs and a focus on achievement of results

Strong customer focus and a belief in giving exceptional service

Willingness to learn and progress within the Company

An ability to close the sale

Self-motivated with a desire to achieve at higher than normal levels

High attention to detail

Excellent people management skills

Flexibility to work weekends as required

Working in a busy environment, your key duties will include:

Maximising sales growth through creative selling skills, teamwork and customer service, delivering an engaging experience to every customer

Handling customer enquiries in-store, over the phone and via email, following up on orders and quotes

Liaising with trade clients on projects

Supporting and developing team members through assistance and training

Being a role model to team members on a daily basis, carrying out a high level of professional care when communicating with team members

Ensuring your store is meeting the respective budget/targets on a monthly basis

Reviewing sales quotations, ensuring sales conversion, managing profit and loss, handling cash at the showroom, as well as overlooking daily sales

Assisting with stock planning processes for your showroom, under the guidance of the Directors

Maintaining the overall tidiness and cleanliness of the showroom space, ensuring that merchandise is displayed neatly and priced accurately

Ensuring that your store meets the expectations of customers and lives up to the Company’s brand identity and Director’s objectives

Reinforcing Company policies where required

Managing staff allocation for your store, compiling and updating the roster for your showroom, ensuring business needs are met while keeping employee needs in mind

If this exciting opportunity interests you, and you can demonstrate via a cover letter and detailed resume that you have the experience and skills required, then we would love to hear from you.

We apologise in advance, however, only successful applicants will be contacted for an interview. No applications will be accepted without a cover letter.
