WHS Advisor (Psychosocial)
This is a full-time contract position until 30 June 2027.
About Us
We are a values driven organisation proud to be serving our community with a broad and diverse range of services. Our community is active and engaged, and proud of our diverse culture, green spaces and built environment. We are connected by our vibrant local centres and our focus on creating safe and welcoming places for people. We are making big changes at the City and by working together we are coming up with more efficient and innovative ways of doing things. If you are looking to work with an organisation that promotes a positive and inclusive workplace, has a friendly working environment and truly believes their workforce is their most important asset, then the City of Bayswater could be the place for you.
About the Position
This key role will lead the implementation of the City’s new psychosocial management framework, systems and tools. As a trusted advisor, you will provide expert guidance on the identification, assessment and management of psychosocial hazards in line with legislative requirements and best practice. Working closely with leaders, workers and stakeholders, you will build strong partnerships to embed sustainable, proactive approaches that foster a mentally healthy, safe and inclusive workplace culture.
You will be responsible for facilitating psychosocial risk assessments and investigations, delivering training and awareness programs, supporting complex psychological injury matters, and contributing to early intervention and employee wellbeing strategies. The role also includes monitoring trends, preparing reports, supporting broader WHS initiatives and promoting a culture of care across all levels of the organisation. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong communication, analytical and relationship-building skills to drive positive safety and wellbeing outcomes across the City.
About the Person
We are seeking a positive, dynamic and influential professional who can effortlessly build strong partnerships through their customer driven approach, technical expertise and communication style. Working within a collaborative environment, you will gain the buy-in from stakeholders to deliver positive change and outcomes. Your outstanding communication skills will be paramount as you influence, engage, coach and mentor.
You will bring substantial experience in Work Health and Safety, People and Culture or Psychology, along with a deep understanding of psychosocial risk management and injury prevention. You’re confident in your ability to interpret complex information, anticipate emerging risks, and develop practical, evidence-based solutions. As a natural relationship builder, you thrive on collaborating with others, and creating a mentally healthy and inclusive workplace culture. Organised, self-motivated and resilient, you lead by example, demonstrating integrity, care and professionalism in everything you do.
This position will appeal to candidates who want to be part of a team and organisation where they are genuinely cared for (our motto is Our Life Is Valued Everyday!) and where the Executive Team prioritises the safety and wellbeing of every employee.
If you’re passionate about making a real difference, we would love to hear from you!
