Are you a technically skilled and people-focused leader ready to take the next step in your water industry career? We're seeking a Senior Water Treatment Lead to oversee the operations of 15 water treatment plants across a diverse and dynamic region in Victoria.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a team of 19 professionals, including coordinators, senior technicians, and plant operators, while playing a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant water treatment operations.

Your new role
As the Senior Water Treatment Lead, you will:

• Lead and support a team of 3 Coordinators and 4 Senior Technicians, with indirect oversight of 12 technical staff.
• Manage day-to-day operations across 15 treatment plants, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Drive operational excellence through effective team leadership, risk-based asset management, and budget oversight.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including Asset Planning, Field Services, and Water Quality to align on strategic goals.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and regular site visits to maintain visibility and ensure delivery of key priorities.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership in water treatment plants operation and maintenance activities.

What you'll need to succeed
We're seeking a candidate who brings a balance of technical expertise and strong leadership capability. You'll need to be a confident communicator, a strategic thinker, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site operational environment.

Essential:

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a water treatment or similar process-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of water treatment operations, risk management, emergency management, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and operational priorities across multiple sites.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Science, or Water Industry Operations.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

Desirable:

• Experience in project or contract management.
• Exposure to asset management systems and emergency response planning.
• Background in chemical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
