The Role

A State Government department is seeking an experienced VPS7 Project Director to join a newly established task force responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of a new policy system. This is a high-impact role for a senior professional with a strong background in government, education policy, and system reform. This is a 6-month contract with a strong potential for extension.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development and roll out of a new policy system.
• Manage policy implementation aligned with state and national priorities.
• Provide strategic advice on education reform and regulatory initiatives.
• Work closely with executives, legal teams, and the Federal Government.
• Build and manage strong communication networks and stakeholder relationships.

About You

• Significant experience in government or regulatory environments, ideally in early childhood or education.
• Proven leadership in designing and implementing policy or governance systems.
• Strong understanding of public sector reform, legislation, and multi-agency cooperation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, project delivery, and strategic advisory skills.
