Commercial Construction Cadet

5MI is currently looking to recruit a Cadet studying Building & Construction Management, Certificate 4 or Diploma in Building and Construction (Estimating or Contract Administration) that is eager to gain experience and learn the roles in construction and project management. Long term work available.

You will learn and assist in aspects of construction such as:

• Estimating

• Contracts Administration

• Project Management

• Material ordering

• Site visits

• Bids / tenders

• Procurement / project planning

• Undertake cost analysis of tenders and implement budget controls

• Perform take-offs / mark-ups

• Prepare Bills of Quantities

You will be mentored by the senior members of the team as you develop in your position and grow your career. We are lookingfor someone who is motivated, honest, collaborative, has initiative, and is not afraid of challenges and commitment.

• You must be currently enrolled in (or working towards) a construction related course

• Competent user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects)

• Communication skills (written and verbal)

• You must be available to work minimum 3 days a week and must have own car

• Some form of work history will be desirable
