Occupational Therapist - Community NDIS Job
Prospect SA & Community-Based | Part-Time or Full-Time | Roles for Early Career & Senior OTs
About Us
At Meaningful Activities, we’re a values-led occupational therapy practice supporting neurodivergent individuals and those with psychosocial disabilities, brain injuries, and neurological conditions. We deliver strengths-based, neuroaffirming therapy that improves quality of life and builds real-world capability across the lifespan.
We’re a small but growing team based out of Little City Coworking in Prospect, offering mobile/hybrid services across Adelaide. We deeply value collaboration, clinical excellence, and supporting our team to grow both personally and professionally.
The Role
We’re looking for passionate Occupational Therapists—whether you’re early in your career or ready to step into a senior role. You’ll work across the lifespan supporting children, teens, and/or adults through therapy that’s person-centred, neurodiversity-affirming, and grounded in real-world impact.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to:
Work in a team that values growth, collaboration, being proactive, innovative, and reliable.
Deliver meaningful therapy that helps people thrive in their everyday lives
Collaborate with AHAs, mentors, and other therapists to enrich service delivery
Co-design groups and services that fill gaps in the community
Support or be supported through structured mentoring and supervision
Help shape (or contribute to) a culture that’s inclusive, purposeful, and people-first
🔹 Key Responsibilities – Senior Occupational Therapist
As a Senior OT at Meaningful Activities, you will take a leadership role in clinical service delivery, mentoring, and innovation. You will model excellence in neuroaffirming practice and play a key role in shaping how we grow and support our team and community.
You will be expected to:
Independently manage a complex, diverse caseload across lifespan, with high clinical reasoning and minimal supervision
Conduct Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs), complex assessments, and goal-directed therapy with a strong focus on capacity building, participation, and community engagement
Provide clinical supervision, coaching and informal mentoring to early-career OTs, OT students, AHAs, and support mentors
Co-lead group program design, service development projects, or process improvements in response to emerging community needs
Act as a resource for neuroaffirming practices, sharing current research and contributing to team discussions and development
Liaise with key stakeholders (families, support coordinators, educators, allied health professionals) to ensure collaborative and holistic care
Ensure accurate documentation, timely reporting, and monitor outcomes against clinical KPIs and NDIS guidelines
Champion a feedback-informed approach, leading or contributing to quality improvement initiatives that align with our values and goals
🔹 Key Responsibilities – Early Career Occupational Therapist
As an Early Career OT, you will be supported to build confidence in clinical practice, gradually increase complexity in your caseload, and contribute meaningfully to service delivery while continuing to grow your professional identity.
You will be supported to:
Manage a manageable caseload that supports skill development while maintaining quality service delivery
Conduct assessments and implement therapy plans with guidance from your supervisor, focusing on building therapeutic relationships and supporting clients' participation in daily life
Collaborate with families and support networks, building your confidence in working within client-centred, community-based environments
Work alongside and learn from AHAs, mentors, and experienced OTs, and begin to contribute ideas to team discussions and planning
Engage in regular supervision and professional development, with protected time to reflect, ask questions, and grow at your pace
Develop strong habits in documentation and goal tracking, with templates, support, and feedback to build confidence
Take part in group facilitation or co-facilitation opportunities, as well as optional involvement in pilot projects and creative service ideas
Begin contributing to the development of your clinical niche, supported by team leaders who want to see you thrive
