About the role
An exciting role with a multinational medical devices organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their team. This Finance Business Partner position will help provide insightful analysis into key performance trends that exist in order to drive the positive financial direction of the company. Initially this will be a long-term contract role, however there is significant scope for extension and/or permanency.
The responsibilities
Reporting direct to the Commercial Manager and working within a large team, your main duties will include:
- Gather and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across the business.
- Build statistical and financial models using software (e.g., TMS) to analyse logistics costs and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed logistics analysis to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
- Partner with stakeholders to optimise cost-to-serve and route-to-market strategies.
- Track logistics trends and recommend performance enhancements.
- Analyse monthly freight costs and support operational and financial decision-making.
- Review freight partner billing for accuracy and compliance with expectations.
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for the Operations team.
- Run weekly forecast calls and prepare relevant logistics reports (e.g., supplier, transport cost).
- Deliver cost line reporting to support cash flow and financial planning.
- Report on project performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Present monthly financial and operational results to management.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly P&L, accruals, and recharges.
- Promote continuous improvement within planning and reporting processes.
- Benchmark logistics performance to implement best practices.
- Identify and execute projects that improve operational or financial outcomes.
- Contribute to quality assurance using internal management systems.
- Support a culture of ongoing process improvement and efficiency
The successful applicant
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have very strong Microsoft Excel skills, be "hands-on" and feel confident working with large complex data sets. Experience with PowerBI is highly regarded.
