About the role
As a Technical Officer (TGO2), you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, multi-disciplined pathology service within a regional laboratory setting. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to essential healthcare outcomes by applying your technical knowledge and expertise across a variety of research, operational, and minor project initiatives. You will be a valued member of a collaborative team, working independently or leading small technical projects that support critical laboratory functions.
This role requires a strong focus on technical judgement and supervisory capabilities. You will oversee team activities, provide guidance on processes and equipment, and deliver reports and recommendations on technical suitability to ensure service excellence. Your work will directly support the ongoing development and delivery of pathology services that are integral to the region’s healthcare needs.
About You
You will bring a strong technical foundation and a commitment to quality in diagnostic laboratory practices. Your ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success in this role.
Hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in an approved and recognised qualification (or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience in laboratory operations, client service, and troubleshooting technical issues.
Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to supervise, train, and support team members effectively.
Proficiency in laboratory procedures, quality principles, and WHS practices, with sound computer literacy to support daily operations.
