About the Role:

As a Disability Support Worker at Englund Care, you will play a vital role in assisting and enabling participants to lead fulfilling lives.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing in-home care to participants, assisting with daily tasks, including personal care, and administering medication.

Providing community access, transporting clients to medical appointments or other activities such as grocery shopping.

Participating in group activities with other participants to assist in improving mental and physical well-being and to assist in providing opportunities for building and maintaining relationships.

Assisting with light domestic duties to ensure a comfortable and safe living environment.

Supporting and enabling participants to achieve their goals and live independently.

Writing shift notes and incident reports through visual-care.

Inform management of any concerns or risks seen.

About You:

We are looking for dedicated individuals who share our commitment to the well-being of people with disabilities. The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

Qualified in certificate III individual supports, certificate III aged care or similar.

Experience across a range of supports, including personal care, supported independant living, prior experience in mental health, providing supports with individuals with complex care needs or high risk / challenging behaviours.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants and their families.

Empathy for the challenges facing people with disabilities and a genuine desire to make a difference.

A strong belief in the principles of Person-Centered Practices.

Flexible availability, including the ability to work afternoon, nights and weekends.

Requirements:

NDIS Worker Clearance certificate.

NDIS orientation.

First Aid certificate – HLTAID 011

CPR Certificate – HLTAID 009

Working with children check (paid).

Police Check

Possession of a valid NSW Driver's License (or similar).
