Disability Support Worker - Locations from Ulladulla to Moruya, including Batemans Bay.
A Disability Support Worker (DSW) provides support to people with disabilities in various settings: in our Group Home at Longbeach and with community based participants. (in their own home.)
The role of a DSW involves supporting participants to complete daily tasks, personal care, cooking, social and recreational activities. Disability support workers are responsible for administering medication.
A DSW also provides support for participants to access the community and build connections.
A DSW will liaise with family members, allied health providers and other support professionals.
Reporting and documentation is part of the DSW role, shift reports, completing individuals data, incident reports and records.
A DSW should promote independence in all areas of like, skill development and maintenance of skills is very important for people with disabilities.
Team work and communication is a very important part of the DSW role.
