About the Role
We are seeking applications for the permanent part-time role of Wardrobe Coordinator. Under the direction of the Wardrobe Manager, the Wardrobe Coordinator will participate in the operations and support functions of the Wardrobe Department, providing hands-on professional, client focused services.
This is not a 9 to 5 position, and it will require candidates to have a high degree of flexibility in their work times in order to meet performance schedules. Wardrobe Technicians must be available across a seven-day roster, including day, evening and weekend shifts, for all performances during a given season.
In this role you will:
Providing the highest level of customer service to internal and external clients.
Supervise small teams of Wardrobe Dressers working in multiple venues in a high-pressure hands-on environment.
Lead and participate in the laundering, maintenance and repair of all aspects of costumes during bump-in, rehearsals, performances and bump-out in a live performance environment to the highest standards.
Liaise with touring companies regarding wardrobe equipment and treatment of costumes according to their requirements for the season.
Prepare, set-up and execute quick and accurate costume changes within strict deadlines, ensuring performers are prompt for all performance calls.
Cut, and construct costumes (using provided patterns), equipment covers, staff uniforms and stage drapes when required.
Contributing to the effective and efficient operation of the Wardrobe department by assisting the Wardrobe Manager with rostering and administration tasks.
Assist the Wardrobe Manager with the delivery of and participation in appropriate training and development programs.
Comply with all QPAC policies and undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Wardrobe Manager or Senior Management.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement advanced costume maintenance, repair and dressing requirements with limited supervision.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and support a team of wardrobe technicians in a hands-on live performance environment.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative to solve problems in high-pressure and time critical situations.
Demonstrated high standards of customer service to internal and external clients through effective communication and deployment of industry knowledge and expertise.
Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision in a hands-on team environment effectively as part of a team.
Demonstrated experience working with a broad range of people and with a flexible open-minded, approach in high-pressure situations which are subject to change.
