ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a national governing sport body seeking a proactive Accountant to contribute to its ongoing success. This is a great opportunity to join a passionate team dedicated to the development, regulation, promotion, and administration of sport across Australia.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and CFO, you’ll support a range of core finance functions including reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, debtor management, and process improvements, playing a hands-on role in the smooth running of the organisations financial operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Month-end reporting and analysis
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Year-end audited financial statements preparation (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Hands-on tax compliance (BAS, FBT)
• Debtor management
• Process improvement initiatives
• Banking including documentation, deposits and reconciliation
• Support the Finance Manager and CFO in the timely and accurate completion of all finance and accounting tasks

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards
• Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
• High attention to detail
• Innovative approach to problem solving
• Initiative to learn and willingness to ask questions
• Well-developed communication and relationship management skills
• Solid IT skills, with excellent Excel skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Tertiary qualified with prior experience in similar organisations or an accounting firm will be a bonus
