Systems and Networks Engineer
Xceltium
Posted 1 day ago
You’ve become the go-to for on-premises infrastructure. You know your way around Windows servers, network switches, and firewalls. You keep systems humming and solve problems before anyone else even notices.
But now, you feel ready for more. You’ve dabbled in Azure or M365, perhaps assisted in a small cloud project or experimented with hybrid setups. You see where the future is heading, and you don’t want to be left behind maintaining legacy environments forever. You want a real opportunity to develop your cloud skills, learn from experienced colleagues, and make an impact beyond reactive support.
In your current role, your growth feels capped. The focus is on maintaining stability rather than driving innovation, and you’re craving an environment that will challenge you, invest in you, and let you take ownership.
This role offers exactly that.
You’ll join a financial services organisation in Parramatta that combines professional development with a deep sense of mission and purpose. This is a business that genuinely values technology as a strategic enabler (not just a cost centre) and is investing in its ongoing modernisation journey.
Here, you’ll leverage your strong on-prem foundation (Windows servers, Hyper-V, networks) while stepping into a range of projects that will stretch and develop you. You’ll work alongside a dedicated cloud engineer and be supported to upskill further in Azure services, Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, and more.
You’ll have the chance to work on impactful initiatives such as:
- Supporting a new data centre build, provisioning physical and virtual servers.
- Upgrading firewalls and improving Wi-Fi design and network performance across core sites.
- Simplifying routing and enhancing connectivity between data centres and head office.
Beyond technical growth, you’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team culture. You’ll be encouraged to bring ideas forward, proactively solve problems, and truly own your environment - all while enjoying a healthy work-life balance with only two days in the office each week.
Who you’ll work for:
A financial services organisation in Parramatta with a strong sense of mission and purpose. They’re big enough to offer meaningful, complex work but small enough for your voice and ideas to be heard and valued.
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience managing on-premises infrastructure (Windows servers, Hyper-V, networking, firewalls).
- Some hands-on exposure to Azure or other cloud services and a strong desire to build deeper skills.
- Broad technical troubleshooting abilities and comfort working across different layers of tech.
- A proactive, growth-focused mindset and strong communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus but not required if you bring the right foundation and hunger to learn.
