The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and passionate General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and provide critical support to the Board of Directors. This is a senior leadership role overseeing staff, programs, partnerships, governance and compliance – all within a culturally safe, community-led environment.
As General Manager, you will:
Lead a dedicated team and ensure smooth, values-aligned daily operations
Deliver strategic initiatives and oversee grant-funded projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with government, community and industry
Ensure robust financial, risk and compliance systems
Represent DIMS with integrity and cultural sensitivity

About You
You are a strong and adaptable leader who thrives in dynamic, community-driven environments. You’re an experienced operator with the professionalism and strategic acumen to lead both people and projects.
You bring:
Experience in executive or senior management roles
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
People management experience, including in cross-cultural settings
Proven skills in governance, reporting and compliance
A strong connection with Darwin and the Northern Territory with an established professional network
Strong grant writing and financial management experience
High emotional intelligence, cultural competence and discretion
A knack for problem-solving and managing competing priorities
Confidence using Microsoft Office and organisational systems
Qualifications & Requirements:
National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
NT Ochre Card (or willingness to obtain)
Current NT Driver’s Licence

Pro-Rata Salary based on $129,205.44 FTE, aligned to SCHADS Award Level 8.1
