Unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated Hardship Officer. As a Hardship Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in assisting customers experiencing financial difficulties.

Key responsibilities:

Manage and evaluate customer's ability and intent to maintain payments

Maximise collections and recoveries strategies for all accounts in Hardship.

Portfolio of consumer and commercial accounts

Conduct financial analysis to support or reject hardship applications

Negotiate debt payment/settlements in line with customer and business needs

Negotiate complex disputes with customers to ensure the best outcomes while mitigating exposures.

Recommend action to recover debts

Provide regular reporting regarding the hardship portfolio.

Make decisions and provide recommendations on cases under delegation

To be shortlisted:

3+ years of hardship collections experience ideally in asset finance and mortgage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills

Sound understanding of the National Credit Code section 72 for hardship

Deep knowledge of Australian regulatory requirements, particularly NCCP compliance and ASIC/ACCC Collection Guidelines

Demonstrated background - successful debt collection, and recovery

Team player with strong empathy and decision-making abilities

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo police and credit checks
