Qualified Assistant Director At Pimpala OSHC

Pimpala Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) is seeking a vibrant & passionate Assistant Director to join our diverse team. The Assistant Director will be contracted to a minimum of 25 hours per week, and additional hours are offered during Vacation Care and will be required to open the service in Before School Care as well as close the service in After School Care, working in partnership with the OSHC Director.

Opening Hours:

Before School Care (6:30am – 9:00am)

After School Care (3:00pm – 6:30pm)

Vacation Care (6:30am – 6:30pm

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will need to support the Pimpala Primary School Values and have the capacity to:

Develop authentic relationships with students, families and staff

Create a friendly, secure, stimulating and enriching learning environment, reflective of the environment as a third educator

Assist with planning, development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs for students R-6

Scaffold an engaging & connected vacation care program, where the children’s voice is visible, the community & educators, ensuring a collaborative approach

Online food shop once per week for the service.

Administration Support, to ensure the effective operations of the OSHC

Work collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously when required

Support the day-to-day operation of the service

Work collaboratively with school Leadership, OSHC Director, as well as the Governing Council

Ensure the service is compliant with all regulatory requirements listed in the National Regulations and National Quality Standards

Being actively apart of the Quality Improvement process, as an emerging document, as well as self-assessment processes and policy & procedure amendments

Support staff in the safeguarding of children, as well as having sound knowledge of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Code of Ethics

Essential Criteria

Diploma in Outside of School Hours Care/ Diploma in Children’s Services/ Bachelor in Early Childhood/Primary Education - ACECQA approved Qualification

Current DCSI / WWCC

Current Senior First Aid

Current CPR

Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect - Education and Care

Sound knowledge of ACECQA, National Quality Framework, EYLF, MTOP

Understanding of the code of ethics, child protective practices and safeguarding of children

Desired Criteria:

SMART Training – Trauma Responsive Practice

Supervisors’ food Safety Qualification

Understanding of children with special rights

Behaviour management training

Understanding of OSHC administration systems

Leadership & mentoring roles of staff

Understanding of the NQA Portal
