We’re on the hunt for a creative and practical Fabrication Designer to join our team at Timbermill.

This role is perfect for someone who loves dreaming up custom furniture, joinery, and event pieces — and knows how to bring them to life with real-world smarts. You’ll be working alongside our workshop crew, production manager, and clients to design beautiful, functional pieces and activations.

What you’ll be doing:

Designing custom furniture, joinery, and event builds from concept to workshop handover

Creating detailed fabrication drawings and CAD files for production; with role development including operation of the CNC

Working closely with our workshop team to ensure designs are practical and buildable

Collaborating with clients and internal teams to bring ideas to life

Helping maintain and improve our internal library of design templates and materials

We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience in fabrication or industrial design (event/build industry a bonus!)

Is confident in CAD software

Has a solid understanding of materials, construction techniques, and hardware

Communicates clearly – both visually and with the team

Is proactive, creative, and able to juggle multiple projects at once

Loves working as part of a collaborative, hands-on crew

This is a full time role based in our Marrickville warehouse.
