An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic individual to join Maroondah Council's Engineering and Building Services team in the role of Project Engineer.
This position reports to the Coordinator Engineering Projects & Drainage and will suit an engineer with civil engineering and project management experience.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Liaising with internal stakeholders on the preparation of project scopes / briefs and cost estimates.
- Coordinate the development of concept, functional and detailed designs through the management of external design consultants.
- Prepare contract documentation and specifications for capital works, and management of the tender process.
- Construction supervision to ensure successful completion of capital works projects
- Monitor project expenditure against budget and forecast project costs. Financial control and reporting to ensure works completed on time, within budget and to Council standards.
- Carry out investigations into infrastructure and drainage problems and prepare reports and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with the community on project related matters and provide exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will possess:
- relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) to allow for you to become a Registered Engineer as per the requirements of Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019;
- demonstrated experience in project management, design consultancy, construction supervision, and contract administration;
- demonstrated experience in dealing with the community, contractors and consultants; and
- excellent written and verbal communication skills.
