Working all over Melbourne.

- We are looking for an exceptionally competent carpenter, who has the ability to run projects and work on site; who doesn't mind spending some time in the office.
- We have a quantity surveyor that we collaborate very closely with for estimating any larger projects. You will not have the sole responsibility of estimating projects. It will be a joint effort between the team.
- You will be involved in planning the project, executing the project and handing over the project — all with support from the Director & the rest of the team. Complete end-to-end role.
- Salary dependent on building industry experience

- We have a full-time office employee who provides assistance to our team to ensure on-site support during working hours
- You will be required to interpret architectural plans and structural drawings accurately
- You will be working closely with the Director on a daily basis.
- We are primarily and residential based renovation & extension company, we do however work closely with commercial builders to complete large elements on commercial projects. Such as childcare centers & other commercial buildings.
- Job is available in 6 weeks with the opportunity to start sooner.
- Workplace culture is important here, we are hard workers, but we do enjoy having fun — we frequently host events throughout the year for our clients which all CH Building Group employees are invited to.
- Office dogs are welcome, we currently have 2 friendly boxers who roam the office as they please

- About the Role
We’re looking for a highly experienced and qualified carpenter to join our team in a hybrid role that blends on-site leadership with project management and estimating responsibilities. You’ll supervise a team of skilled carpenters and manage both residential renovations and elements of smaller scale commercial projects, ensuring delivery is smooth, professional, and on time.

- What You’ll Need
Fully qualified carpenter with 10+ years of experience (15+ preferred)
Proven ability to project manage and supervise a team
Own full set of tools and work vehicle
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Good computer skills (emailing with outlook, documents, quoting software)
On-site quoting experience (preferred)
Ideally familiarity with estimating software – PlanSwift preferred
Certificate III in Carpentry & White Card
- What the Role Involves
Leading and managing residential extensions, renovations, and smaller scale commercial projects
Working 2–3 days on-site, and 2 days in-office
Quoting and client interaction during site visits
Estimating and job setup with structured systems and support
Collaborating closely with the director and wider project team
