Mascot Medical and Dental Centre is a busy, privately owned large general practice in the heart of the Mascot shopping strip. The clinic has been serving the community since 1989, is fully accredited and has a large and loyal, multi-generational following. We are passionate about providing quality health care to our patients.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our dedicated team. You must be efficient, hardworking and have the ability to create a good rapport with patients, doctors and staff. We are looking for someone with a passion for helping people and who enjoys being a part of a committed supportive team and doesn't get stressed by being busy.

The hours will be in the timeframe between 8am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday; 9am -1pm on Saturdays, shared with another nurse. We have 2 nurses on each weekday, 1 on Saturday mornings.

The role is full time - 5 days per week and every second Saturday morning.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Assist in the management of the practice Treatment Room

Supporting other nurse

Nursing processes and protocols

Immunisations - COVID, Shingles, Flu, Baby etc

Patient triaging

Wound care / dressings

ECG's, spirometry

Assisting doctors with minor procedures

Patient recall and reminder system

Infection control and sterilisation

Cold chain management

Stock control and ordering

General treatment room duties

Skills & experience:

At least 2 years previous experience working in a busy general practice

Strong communication and time management skills

A caring and collaborative approach to patient care

Strong attention to detail

AHPRA registration

Nurse immunisation certificate

Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask

A team player, collegiate in approach

Knowledge of Best Practice would be an advantage
