About This Opportunity
As a Transition Manager, you will lead and refine innovative programs ensuring the successful integration of all commencing UQ students. Collaborating closely with diverse university stakeholders, deliver and evaluate initiatives focused on academic preparedness, fostering connection and belonging, promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, and enhancing career readiness. This pivotal role champions accessibility, prioritizing support for underrepresented student groups, and involves convening an institution-wide orientation working group to create a cohesive and holistic student experience across all campuses.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead Program Delivery & Evaluation
- Lead dedicated teams in delivering programs grounded in transition pedagogy and best practice, and critically review and report on their impact and effectiveness.
Drive Strategic Operationalisation
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across UQ to operationalise the university's comprehensive transition plan.
Develop Digital Support Resources
- Develop effective online transition support materials that address the changing needs of all students, and collaborate with teams to deliver seamless digital solutions.
Foster Cross-University Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across the university to enhance overall student transition and onboarding.
About You
- Degree/qualifications with over five years' relevant experience.
- Proven experience managing high-performing teams and fostering an innovative culture for effective outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience leading student-centred programs that significantly enhance the student experience, coupled with the ability to cultivate a proactive and innovative program culture.
- Extensive experience implementing project plans, including outcome measurement, timeline management, communication, and progress monitoring within budget. This is supported by high-level interpersonal, liaison, and negotiation skills to build strong working relationships across complex university environments.
- Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and integrate data from various systems and sources to develop reports, present recommendations, and drive continuous service improvements.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
