This is a temporary, 12 month maternity leave replacement position for 14 hours per week.

In this position, you will:

· Assess and document the needs of children and families as part of Council’s community planning processes

· Plan, facilitate and provide input into the development of services, facilities, policies and other initiatives for children and families.

· Advocate on behalf of Council for needed Children services at the Local, Regional. State and Federal levels.

· Ensure the Child and Youth Plan, and other Councils plans for children and young people are meeting emerging community needs.

· Provide an Interface with external stakeholders on behalf of the SFA and Council that impact on the functioning of the child, youth, family and community service system.

You will have:

· Relevant degree qualification appropriate for the position’s accountabilities.

· Extensive experience working with children and families

· An understanding of issues relating to improving the quality of life of children and families.

· Ability to provide specialist advice and expertise relating to issues affecting children and families.

· Highly developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated experiences in large and small group facilitation methods.

This is a part-time, job-share arrangement.

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $35,657 gross per annum

+ 12% superannuation

+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary

+ annual award increase
