About Us

Gartly Advisory is a growing accounting practice based in Ormond, Melbourne. Led by sole practitioner Geoff Gartly, Geoff and his team provide a variety of advice to a diverse group of businesses, including tax and business matters, such as SMSF and Estate matters. We specialise in tax, accounting, and business advisory services for small to medium-sized businesses. We take pride in tackling challenging matters to help our clients succeed. Our team is passionate about building long-term client relationships and delivering practical, high-value advice. Our practice is expanding, and we are seeking a team member who can help drive growth.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and take a lead role in:

- Managing a portfolio of business and high-worth individual clients.

- Providing business advisory and taxation services across various industries.

- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work and guiding their development.

- Managing tax lodgment workflows and ensuring timely delivery of compliance obligations.

- Identifying opportunities for value-added services to support client growth and success.

Our practice uses the Handisoft Tax and Practice software - while previous experience is helpful, it isn't essential. Our practice assists clients with all types of software, including MYOB, XERO, QuickBooks, and others. Therefore, your understanding of major programs is essential for the role, along with a solid understanding of small business tax issues.

What You’ll Need

CA or CPA qualified (or near completion).

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Australian public practice.

Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in Xero and MYOB; familiarity with cloud-based workpaper systems.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in helping clients succeed.
