Senior Accountant - Public Practice | Geelong

Your Role:

As a valued team member, you'll play an integral part in delivering tax and compliance services while also mentoring junior staff and supporting client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing annual financial statements, tax returns, and business activity statements (BAS).
• Guiding junior staff in technical tasks
• Promoting a positive, client-centric team culture.
• Participating in internal training and continuous learning initiatives.
• Assisting senior leadership with research, and advisory projects.
• Staying current with evolving accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

About You:

You are a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a supportive, high-performing environment. You will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Business (or similar discipline).
• CA or CPA qualification (completed or in final stages).
• At least 4 years of experience in a public practice or similar accounting role.
• Confidence in preparing complex tax returns and understanding tax legislation.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and career advancement.
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and cloud accounting tools like Xero and MYOB.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
