Bushfire Risk Mitigation Coordinator

Fixed Term – 3 year contract

Applications are invited from forward-thinking and team-oriented individuals with experience in emergency risk management to join our team in the role of Bushfire Risk Mitigation Coordinator (BRMC).

The BRMC position is responsible for evaluation, development and implementation of bushfire mitigation strategies and activities across the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, and other participating local governments to ensure mitigation treatments are effectively planned, actioned and evaluated.

The BRMC position reports to our Deputy Chief Executive Officer and works with other shire staff and a wide range of external stakeholders. The BRMC position is jointly funded by the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and is an excellent career opportunity in emergency service management. This position is based in Wongan Hills but will be required to work 2 days per week from DFES in Belmont and other local governments as required.

Competitive conditions of employment are offered including a cash salary of up to $102,994 per annum plus 12% superannuation, with an optional matching superannuation co-contribution.
