The Studio Gallery, Yallingup, is an established leading contemporary arts venue in the Southwest, showing works from a wide range of local and broader Australian artists. We are seeking a personable, professional, and highly organised Sales & Administration Assistant to join our dynamic team.
About the Role:
This role is central to the smooth daily operation of the gallery and involves a blend of client-facing sales, administrative support, and coordination of exhibitions and events. Reporting to the Gallery Manager, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring gallery processes are efficiently managed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide outstanding customer service to clients, both in-person and via phone/email
Drive artwork sales through confident communication, product knowledge, and follow-up. Training in product knowledge will be provided.
Process transactions, issue invoices, and assist with payment queries
Manage artist and customer databases with accuracy and discretion
Assist with packaging and co-ordination of artworks to destinations
Maintain and update website and social media content as required
Assist with exhibition planning, artwork logistics, and promotional materials
Ensure the gallery presentation is always professional, clean, and welcoming
What We’re Looking For:
Proven sales experience with professional appearance and customer service focus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good time management and multitasking skills
Strong computer literacy - proficiency in email, POS systems, databases, and Office
Experience with social media, image editing, or newsletter platforms is a plus (Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva experience highly regarded)
Impeccable attention to detail and strong organisational skills
A warm, confident and approachable manner with natural ability to engage with the public
An interest in art and design or desire to learn
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a small team
Flexibility to work occasional weekends and during special events
Hours:
This is a casual position rostered part-time, minimum 3 days per week. Negotiable based on candidate availability and gallery needs. Weekend availability may be required. Opportunity for permanent part-time for the right candidate.
