About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker (DSW) to support a client with high behavioural needs in Kallangur, QLD. The client requires a skilled and confident support worker who can manage behaviours of concern, including physical aggression, and provide personal care with professionalism and empathy.

This role will involve working closely with the client in their home and community, supporting their independence and well-being with dignity and respect.

What You’ll Do

Provide person-centered support for a client with physical and complex behavioural needs

Implement behaviour support strategies within authorised restrictive practice frameworks

Deliver personal care, including support with incontinence, menstrual hygiene, and behaviours of concern, such as faecal smearing or ingestion

Recognise and respond to triggers and trauma-related behaviours with de-escalation strategies

Observe, monitor and report changes in client condition and behaviour

Maintain accurate documentation and uphold best-practice care standards

Work collaboratively with families, clinicians, and Leora's care team

About You

You are a calm, confident and skilled professional with a strong understanding of complex care, including trauma-informed approaches and behaviour management. You bring empathy, resilience, and a proactive mindset to your work every day.

You’ll have:

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care), Community Services

Knowledge and application of restrictive practices within the NDIS framework

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

High emotional intelligence and the ability to recognise signs of escalation through body language and behaviour

Required:

NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Valid First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR Certificate

Valid Australian Driver's Licence
