The Town of Claremont is a progressive local government that was established in 1898 for the picturesque riverside suburbs of Claremont and Swanbourne. The Bay View Community Centre is an exciting and growing space that hosts a newly relocated library, workshop space and cafe. The Town is seeking a full-time Librarian to oversee the Town’s library management system (Spydus). Key responsibilities of the position include:

Overseeing the selection, acquisition and cataloguing of library resources.

Assisting library clientele with reference queries and requests.

Supporting, guiding and developing Library Officers.

Overseeing work experience students and volunteers.

Representing the Town at meetings (WSLG, State Library).

Assisting with the planning and implementation of community programs, events and activities.

Assisting with marketing and promoting the library including collaborating with local organisations.

The successful candidate will have formal library qualifications and excel in customer service. They will have an affinity for working with the community and mirror the Town’s values of respect, integrity, quality communication and excellent customer service.
